Pope Leo xiii had an encounter with the devil and subsequently wrote the prayer of St Michael which is a prayer against the devil.

"Pope Leo XIII reportedly experienced a vision after Mass in 1884 where he witnessed a conversation between God and Satan. Satan boasted that he could destroy the Church if given 75-100 years and greater power over his followers, which God granted. The vision also revealed to the Pope a glimpse of the events of the 20th century, including wars, immorality, and genocide.
