Saint Veronica

I'm excited to share Veronica with you today. While I made her I listened to a song about Veronica. If you've ever prayed the rosary you will know that one of thoughts during the carrying of the cross is Veronica wiping Jesus's face. it left an imprint on the cloth. She's a patron saint of photographers so I also listen to this song snapshot while I made her you know the one that goes "except for the snapshot you know I've got" it's like evidence that her boyfriend was cheating on her. My parents love to send messages with photographs. I call them winky winky brag pictures..

i was interested in being a photographer as a youth- Today photograph my poppets. This is my parents final portrait. They're dressed in black outside of the cage. That's a message. Here is a retake to show Saint Veronica's hands.

St Michael the Archangel Poppet

My guardian angel was once revealed to be St. Michael (in a dream) I attend St Michael church and say the prayer to St Michael regularly. in the dream he looked as depicted.

Pope Leo xiii

Pope Leo xiii had an encounter with the devil and subsequently wrote the prayer of St Michael which is a prayer against the devil.

"Pope Leo XIII reportedly experienced a vision after Mass in 1884 where he witnessed a conversation between God and Satan. Satan boasted that he could destroy the Church if given 75-100 years and greater power over his followers, which God granted. The vision also revealed to the Pope a glimpse of the events of the 20th century, including wars, immorality, and genocide. Pocket Hank’in

i've been meaning to do this for weeks. I have some fine linen and I have some silk thread that I got for cheap at the closing Joanne fabrics. I learned to use my old machine in a new way with different stitches, edging stitches.

More Aprons

i upcycled a curtain into two aprons.

Curtain Project

I switched up my curtains for a new look in my house. I made the linen and calico ones.

The Matriarch and Patriarchs

i've been working on the matriarchs and patriarchs for months. I finally completed Jacob.

Apron/curtain Project

I got my mojo back -all of a sudden I had ambition to do things. I've had some material kicking around for over a year, and I made some aprons and curtains. I used my own imagination to design the curtains and they're not as nice as I would've liked, but they work and the apron-I found an old apron I bought years ago and copy the style from it.

Tunic knitting project

I'm working on an eco duo project- that is the name of the wool. it has not been died. It is all natural colors. The wool is 30 % merino and 70% alpaca and is buttery soft.

I found out in 2023 that I am actually not of the Brandlin bloodline. I am of the Pugh bloodline. Then I found out that a few generations back there aren't many Pughs.(my newly found cousin told me).. The bloodline is Patterson. Which means Patrick's son in Scottish. It is a Scottish name and I have 3% Scott blood in me. I looked up the Pattersons and I found there is a lot in history about them and one Patterson acquired castle Huntley in 1776 for his wife who was a Grey because the origin of the castle was Grey. I looked online and found this castle that is now a Scottish prison that was once owned by a Patterson in 1776.

Hooded Scarf

Years ago a mysterious package came in the mail, a black hooded scarf. That was in the nineties. This year i had a skein of yarn and I

started a black hooded scarf. I had to go get a second skein at Fiber arts in the Glen. I had just enough to finish it! The pattern is on ravelry- "Sophie Hooded scarf".

Fingerless gloves and the tubular cast off

This weekend i mastered the kitchner stitch used with the tubular cast off- first I botched the finger portion but then i conquored the thumb- thanks to Suzanne Bryan of youtube and ravelry.

i also did some mending of moth eaten fingerless gloves.

December knitting projects

i've gotten back into knitting full force. I knitted two diamond beanies one for Ben and one for Alan and I am knitting a hooded scarf right now. Here are some pictures.

the greatest birthday joy was teaching my daughter in law and granddaughters to knit tonight.

My Crimes

For part of my career of 30 years, I have been disabled with bipolar disorder. It is not my desire to be a burden on society. I would much rather be working and living a productive life. In 2016 I had just moved to Penn Yan. I unfortunately went off my medication and became manic and confused. I believed that the movies told the truth about reality and I had watched some scary movies such as Silence of the lambs. In 2012 a friend had been over to my house and he picked up my grandson and bit at his leg playfully like many people do with little ones. When I became manic, I believed he was actually a cannibal. This was four years later. I wrote my daughter and said “watch out for Eric. He could be a cannibal”. For this letter She called the police, and she requested and order of protection. I was very lonely in my new community, it was a sort of solitary confinement. At one point I did not leave my home for six weeks. I did however on Oct 7 2016 drive to Clifton springs to pray the rosary in the cemetery (a little strange I’ll admit). I passed by my daughters home and stopped in traffic for the school bus, where my grandkids were boarding the bus. My son in law believed I had violated the order of protection. I subsequently was told by the judge later that I was allowed to drive by the house and that’s why I thought I only had one crime. In addition to the fact that the courthouse only gave me one paper with the crime listed so that’s all I reported to the state board of nursing. In response to my irresponsibility with my illness, the board nursing put me on two years probation and stayed suspension. I was allowed to work as a nurse but the wording “stayed “ is not understood by people to mean what it means. I worked as a cashier for a year and a half. In Jan of 2017 I went back on my medication and have been stable and appropriate for seven and a half years. My legal counsel said not to clarify anything about the second crime -driving by the daughters house (criminal contempt) as my probation period was over. Aggravated harassment in the second degree crime was for the bizarre letter to my daughter. When I pled guilty it was out of fear- fear that I would lose my home if incarcerated. I know when some one sees these crimes they must think that I am aggressive, irrational and irritable. That is not my nature at all. I am calm and cooperative. I am grateful to Flacra that I have been able to prove to myself and everyone that I am a competent and caring nurse. I am proud to be working and be off disability. Celebrate Mourning Doves

i love the soft coo of a mourning dove. I also find the soft taupe of their feathers facinating. I did two renderings from the same reference photo.
